Collector's peonies created in 1999....from an impossible mix: a cross between a tree and an herbaceous peony. Expensive plants & flowers but....just gorgeous flowers! The breeder's objective was to create a true yellow herbaceous peony.
Today, thanks to the genius of breeders, the intersectional varieties of peonies have not only true yellow flowers but also a large span of beautiful colors, typical of flowers usually seen in tree peonies.
A little more expensive flowers but true beauties!
They have very strong stems and a typical tree foliage( tree) but shiny (herbaceous).
Huge flowers with a divine fragrance. PLEASE NOTE: the flower's bud opens very fast, within 24 hours even for double or semi-double flowers.
Nothing is perfect, however, they have a shorter vase life than the usual big doubles, not more than 3-4 days in good conditions. So, not recommended for floral arrangements in hotels (who ask for a week) but their beauty will create the WOW factor in events of limited duration.
Many varieties available, generally from mid-June to the beginning of July with my latest bloomer, beautiful Garden Treasure!
